Coastie, the USCGAUX mascot, is the goodwill ambassador of boating safety to children. He travels around to different events and schools giving children a much needed glimpse of what safety on the water is all about. By talking to them and moving around and reacting while telling safe boating messages and stories he instills a message of safe boating on their young minds.
I have extensive experience with and am the keeper & scheduler of one of the District's "Coastie" Robot Boats. This involves much time in prep, maintenance & servicing , delivery in my vehicle, training more operators, ordering brochures and coloring books, operation at events, and purchasing supplies & repair parts. I have refinished & repainted the Bot when we took it over from the CG.
I am always trying to be entertaining, broadening & improve the type of events Team-building, and distributing helpful safety materials to children & adults. "Coastie" also supports many Auxiliary meetings, public activities, & safety events.
